Brief Profile:
Dr. Mahendra Kumar is a highly accomplished Liver Transplant and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgeon, currently serving as a Consultant in the Department of Liver Transplant and HPB Surgery at Artemis Hospital. He received his super-specialty training (M.Ch.) in Liver Transplant and HPB Surgery from the renowned Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi.
Prior to joining Artemis Hospital, Dr. Kumar was associated with ILBS, where he gained extensive experience in managing complex liver and pancreatic diseases and performing advanced transplant procedures.
He has been part of more than 500 liver transplant surgeries, including Living Donor Liver Transplantation (LDLT), Deceased Donor Liver Transplantation (DDLT), Swap and Domino Liver Transplants, and Simultaneous Liver-Kidney Transplants (SLKT). His expertise also spans minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) HPB surgeries, pediatric liver transplantation, and complex biliary and pancreatic procedures, including the Whipple’s procedure.
